The signing on a two-year deal of Ashley Chambers has really captured the imagination and showed a real signal of intent from Boro as we prepare for the 2017/18 campaign.

The talented 27 year-old enjoyed a productive loan spell last term and has now set him sights on helping the club challenge at the right end of the table.nuneaton

“I am confident that with the group of players we’ve got here we can be up there challenging,” admitted the former Grimsby Town man. “It was clear during my loan spell that there is plenty of talent here and this been enhanced by the signings that the Gaffer has made.

“My aim is to help us win matches and be in amongst the leading pack. I’ve come here to be successful and enjoy my football.

“There’s such a great spirit amongst the lads and I think that the supporters are buying into what we are trying to do here; there is a lot of positivity, it’s a club on the up, and that was a big factor in my decision to return.

“I did get offers from elsewhere, but I wanted to be part of things here and help the club progress. Hopefully I’ll get goals and be able to help the younger lads continue their development as this is something that I’m also interested in.

“There is something special happening here and I am really excited about what the future holds in store.”
