Nuneaton Borough manager Jimmy Ginnelly has been speaking about the signing of defender Scott McManus.

The long-time former FC Halifax Town player had confirmed his retirement from playing earlier this year.

After securing his signature, though, Boro’ boss Ginnelly told the club’s website:

“When we discovered that Scott wanted to get back into football, we contacted him and asked him in for a coffee and a chat. He told us that he was looking at a career change, as he’s been working in London and missing his family.

“He’s found a new job here in the Midlands and now wants to get back out on the pitch. Players of Scott’s calibre do not grow on trees so we had to act quickly.”
