The countdown is on for the second part of Nuneaton Town’s festive double-header against local rivals, Tamworth.

The Lambs will arrive at The Coombe Abbey Arena on New Year’s Day determined to bounce back from their Boxing Day home defeat.

It’s sure to be another enthralling encounter as we aim to make it six wins in a row and in doing so secure our fourth successive home victory having previously sent Alfreton Town, Stocksbridge Park Steels and Stalybridge Celtic packing with defeats in recent weeks.

“Winning is a habit,” said Boro boss, Tommy Wright. “It breads confidence and can reignite not just a team but also a whole football club.

“It’s nice to see smiles back on faces; the players are playing without fear and enjoying their football.

“We need to maintain our current winning sequences and continue to pull ourselves up the League table.

“The victory at their place on Boxing Day was the ideal Christmas present. There are not many teams who will come home from The Lamb with anything this season and now we have to make sure that we build on this back on home soil.

“The lads are giving me everything and deserve a good turn-out to really get behind them and help us march into 2017 in style.

“Let’s create another winning atmosphere and do all that we can to achieve another positive result.”
