Nuneaton Borough have further boosted their attacking options with the signing of striker Adam McGurk.

McGurk signed for Aston Villa in 2004 making seven appearances for the reserves and scoring four goals before suffering a serious knee injury that briefly derailed his career. After being released by Aston Villa he joined Hednesford Town before earning a contract at Tranmere Rovers.

After suffering a collapsed lung McGurk left Tranmere and signed for Burton Albion. He made his debut in a league cup tie against Sheffield United, setting up the first goal in a 2–1 win. McGurk scored the winning goal in Burton’s 1–0 win over Premier League QPR in August 2014.

The former Northern Ireland youth international later signed with Portsmouth, scoring on his debut against Derby County in the Capital One Cup first round. A spell with Cambridge United followed before spending last season with Morecambe.

He will go straight into Nicky Eaden’s squad for the trip to Spennymoor Town tomorrow.
