Nuneaton Town have beaten off plenty of competition to complete the signing, on a two-year deal, of Ashley Chambers following his release by League Two side Grimsby Town.
Chambers enjoyed a highly productive loan spell at the club in the second half of last season where he really showed his quality.
“I am delighted to announce that Chambo has committed to the football club for two years,” said manager, Tommy Wright. “I would like to thank the chairman for backing me with this signing.
“I have spoken publicly about the importance of mixing experience with youth and also getting a proven goalscorer.
“I am convinced that this is the player that ticks all the boxes for me. It is a clear signal that we mean business; this is the signing that all of our supporters wanted but doubted that we could deliver.
“Well, we have delivered it. Chambo can see the potential here and now it is time for the town to really get behind their football team”.
