Mark O’Brien has re-joined Southport from League Two side Luton Town on a three-month loan deal.

O’Brien arrives for his second spell with the Sandgrounders, having joined on a month`s southportloan deal in March during last season.




During his time on loan, O`Brien made seven appearances for Southport – scoring 1 goal in a 3-3 draw with Welling United at The Merseyrail Community Stadium.

He also made seven first-team appearances for Luton last season, having spent the entire season on loan at Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership the season before, accruing nineteen appearances.

He also has thirty-two Sky Bet Championship appearances to his name with Derby County over seven seasons in addition to two Republic of Ireland under-19 appearances.

O`Brien was named Derby County academy player of the year in 2008/09, and won the Republic of Ireland under-19 player of the year award in the same season.

He also collected Derby’s `Contribution to the Community Award` in 2012.

The club would like to welcome Mark to The Merseyrail Community Stadium and hope that he can build upon his impressive performances from his first spell at Southport.
