Barrow have announced that Paul Ogden has been appointed as their Head of Football Operations.
Paul previously held the role of Chief Scout. Managing director Andrew Casson explains the reasoning behind his appointment to the new position.
“As we all saw at the fans Q&A event over the summer, Paul Ogden is a respected and experienced man in football and the club are lucky to be able to call on him to carry things forward.
Continuing to build and manage a squad during the season is a big job, and having Paul Ogden managing things will give Paul Cox the freedom to focus on the season at hand and myself to focus on on the business side of things.
With his new role, Paul Ogden will be able to work alongside the manager much more closely to ensure that we are on the ball in terms of managing our recruitment and snapping up the best talent as and when it becomes available.”
Paul has a wealth of experience in football and has managed his home town team, Leek Town FC, on six separate occasions over a forty year span. He has also managed at Northwich Victoria, Kidsgrove Atheltic and Witton Albion. In addition to this he has an unmatched scouting network and has worked as a scout for Mansfield Town in addition to ourselves.
One of the first things Paul will be doing is answering questions at another fans Q&A event on Friday 11th August. The event will be taking place in the Crossbar and will start at 7pm. Chairman Paul Casson and first team manager Paul Cox will also be present.
