Enfield Town boss Andy Leese has moved quickly to secure the services of forward Karl Oliyide on a month’s loan from Hampton & Richmond Borough.
Oliyide, 23, originally signed for Town from Hendon in February 2017, him having moved to Silver Jubilee Park during the 2016 close season from Wingate & Finchley. He began his career with Oxhey Jets before joining the Reading academy, and has also had spells at Northwood and with Leiknir Reykjavik in Iceland. After starting the 2017-18 campaign with Braintree Town, he joined National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town in February 2018 before moving to the Beveree in December 2018. In his initial spell at the QEII Stadium he made 15 appearances and scored 6 goals.
Leese said “Karl is a great signing at this stage of the season. Many thanks to Gary McCann at Hampton for making it happen. We are stretched in the forward area of the pitch at the moment, losing Liam and with Mo out injured. Karl will give us plenty of options up there, not least as he has been playing at a higher level and scoring goals. There is plenty of football to come in the next month and we hope Karl can help keep us on track after last Saturday’s win at Worthing. We are also continuing to monitor players that we think could strengthen us at this key time.”
