Goalkeeper Ashlee Jones has left Canvey Island to join Merstham, while Jack Giddens has joined on a month’s loan from Billericay Town.

Jones joined the club for a second spell earlier in the season, making 16 appearances and saving three penalties. He returns to the Bostik Premier with Merstham and played in their 2-1 defeat away to Leatherhead on Wednesday night.

With Conor Gough and Henry Newcombe both injured, coming in to take the number one shirt is Jack Giddens who arrives for a month from Billericay Town. Giddens was named Fans’ Player of the Season and Manager’s Player of the Season in 2016 and has previously played for the likes of Leyton Orient, Aveley and Tilbury.
