Walthamstow striker James Peagram has left the club.
‘Peags’ joined at the start of this season, and helped the team to a good start in league and cup competitions.
A strike against Felixtowe & Walton in the FA Cup, and a last-minute winner against Woodford Town will remain fond memories for the Stow faithful.
He appeared for Epping Town in the Olympian League on Saturday. Ryan Maxwell has acted quickly to replace Peagram.
Striker Leon McKenzie has returned to the club, a little over 12 years after last playing for the club. He made his debut at the start of the 2005/06 season, signing from Aveley.
He was an ever-present, scoring 12 times in 35 games, forming a superb partnership with Wes Thomas. But an injury in the final quarter of the season saw him sit out games in March and April; around the same time Forest’s play-off charge fell away.
He followed Hakan Hayrettin’s to Thurrock in June 2006, staying there for three seasons, then moving on to Grays Athetlic, Bishop’s Stortford, Thurrock, Bromley, Billericay Town, Boreham Wood, Bromley (again), Grays (again), eventually signing for AFC Hornchurch in 2012. McKenzie made almost 200 appearances for the Urchins, and was named Supporters’ Player of the Season for 2016-17.
