Andy Welsh has completed his first signing since stepping into the manager’s job at Ossett Albion.

The former Sunderland winger has brought in a fellow North West native in former Bolton Wanderers youngster Alex McQuade. The 25-year-old has had spells at Warrington Town, Farsley, Hyde and Guiseley after appearing briefly in the Football League with Shrewsbury Town.

The left-back has been playing in Australia for Banyule City, where he won Players’ Player of the Year and Player of the Year honours.
