Torquay United will try to keep on-loan Dagenham & Redbridge forward Elliott Romain even if the club are unsuccessful in their fight to stay in the Vanarama National League.
The 26-year-old was a January arrival for Gary Owers’ team and has scored three times since.
In an interview posted on the BBC’s website, Owers said: “We’re making big, big noises to try and get him to stay here.
“Anyone that comes in and scores goals will interest other clubs, but I really think that he’s enjoyed living in the area and he’s enjoyed being part of what we’re trying to do, which is fighting for survival.”
