Oxford City have added Justin Bennett and Joe Oastler to their squad ahead of the 2017/18 season.
The pair are the first signings to Mark Jones’ squad this season.
Bennett has signed from Salisbury FC, having scoring over 40 goals in all competitions for the Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West outfit last season.
He has previously spent a lot of time in the National League South with Gosport Borough, scoring well over 250 goals in his time there.
He has also featured for Poole Town and Eastleigh previous to his spell at Gosport.
Oastler has joined from City`s league rivals Gosport Borough, where he was their captain.
He played every minute of the last campaign and impressed, despite their relegation to the Southern League.
Oaster’s portfolio boasts 114 Football League appearances, playing 113 times in the League Two for Torquay United, and once in the Championship for Queen’s Park Rangers.
More recently, before his time at Gosport, he spent three years at Aldershot Town.
Jones said: “We are delighted to have signed Joe and Justin, two very good signings for us, and are both experienced players.
“Justin has been prolific at this level, particularly at Gosport, scoring over 250 goals for them. He is a proven goalscorer and goalscoring is definitely something that we need to improve on in our team from last season.
“Joe is a player that I’ve had my eye on for a while. I saw him play at Aldershot a couple of seasons ago. I have been impressed with him, and have been following him. He had a good season at Gosport, despite their relegation, playing every game and captained them”.
