Freddy Eastwood has seen his loan spell with Canvey Island come to an end due to paperwork issues.

The Gulls had been looking to extend the youngster’s loan move from Southend United.

Despite the Shrimpers also being keen for Eastwood to remain with the Isthmian North club, a paperwork issue has resulted in the attacking midfielder returning to Roots Hall.

Canvey boss Mark Bentley said: “We have lost Freddy because of a problem with the paperwork.

“We were looking to extend his loan and Southend were also happy for him to stay with us, but we were told by the Isthmian North that we were missing a piece of paperwork that was needed in order for Freddy to stay with us.”
