Bradford Park Avenue midfielder Sam Patterson has joined recently relegated Altrincham.

Patterson has featured for Bradford in the last two campaigns, however did leave the club last summer to sign for Shrewsbury.

However having failed to make a single league appearance at the Greenhaus Meadow, he returned to the Horsfall Stadium in January.

A product of the Barnsley youth system, he initially joined Avenue midway through the 2014-15 campaign, starting at right-back but going on to impress in the centre of midfield.

However a call to sign professionally came after a trial at Shrewsbury, but the 22-year-old appeared only in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, and chose to leave in favour of regular football.

He joins former Guiseley man Craig Hobson, and Frickley’s John Cyrus in a triple signing announced by Altrincham boss Neil Young.
