Former Plymouth Argyle and Southampton player Paul Wotton has been named as Truro City’s new manager this morning.
Wotton, 41, made his name at his local club Plymouth, playing a pivotal part in Argyle’s rise up the divisions under Paul Sturrock in the early-to-mid-2000s. He joins Truro City after Paul Wilkinson departed this week to take over at League One Bury.
He has agreed a two-year deal to manage the club and told the official website:
“The infrastructure is getting bigger and better. The club is run in a vastly more professional way.
“I’m a professional person so the more good people you’ve got around you the better. I’m here to concentrate on the football.
“This is my first manager’s job so it’s exciting for me and a real positive step forward on my career path. It’s a club with a great tradition in non-league circles and I’m looking forward to getting started.”
