Peacehaven & Telscombe FC will become a Community Football Club.
The fund now stands at an amazing £35,620 which means the process can begin to turn Peacehaven & Telscombe FC into community ownership.
A statement on the club website confirmed the move.
It read “Thank-you goes to the following whose donations pushed the fund over the finishing line: Peter Billin, David Martin, Mark Silsby, Philip Woodgate, Sandra Lopez, Marco Pucci, Derek Earley, Jason Earley and Martin Ford.
“To ensure the fund collects all its outstanding pledges and gives those who have not yet committed a final chance to get involved, the closing date has been extended to 5pm on Monday July 11.
“Fundraising champion and interim board member Mike Bradbury said: “It’s astounding. So many people have stepped forward to support our great football club. We now have enough funds to be able to bring the club into community ownership.”
“However, we are extending the registration period closing date to July 11 to give those people who are fundraising or who have pledged their support time to get their money in and paperwork completed.”
“Bradbury continued: “I know there are some people who are waiting and seeing before they commit. Well, we have done it. We will be a community owned football club and I urge you to get involved and support your local football club.”
“He concluded: “I would like to go on record to thank everyone who has donated and supported this ground-breaking campaign. You have all been brilliant.”
