Promotion Final winners Grimsby Town have announced that former Boston United defender Zak Mills has joined on a two-year deal.

The 24-year-old full-back, who is capable of playing anywhere across the backline, turned down a new deal at National league North side Boston United at the end of last season.

He joined the Pilgrims in March 2014, having already played for them as a Centre of Excellence youngster.

He signed a new contract with United ahead of the 2015/16 campaign and was instrumental in helping them to the play-offs.

Speaking soon after putting pen-to-paper, the young defender said: “I’m delighted to sign a two-year deal.

“The last couple of years at Boston I’ve always wanted to make the step up, see what I can do. I feel I’m good enough to play, I’ll be jumping two steps but I’m sure I will pick it up quite quickly again”.
