Hednesford Town manager Paul Casey has moved quickly to bolster his squad at Keys Park with the arrival of two new faces in time for Saturday’s trip to Workington AFC.

The manager has been able to bring in midfield duo George Forsyth and David McDermott from Kidderminster Harriers and Redditch United respectively.

Forsyth has arrived on an initial one month loan from Harriers, with the potential to extend that for the remainder of the season.

The 19-year-old is the son of former Birmingham City and Stoke City midfielder Richard and has enjoyed spells at Halesowen Town and Rushall Olympic over the course of the last 18 months.

Casey said “George is a player who likes to sit in midfield and break up the play from the middle of the park. He has a great range of passing and at 6’3 is someone who can add some steel to the side.”

Also arriving at Keys Park is experienced midfielder McDermott, who began his career at Walsall in 2004 – for whom he played in the football league for – before enjoying spells in the National League with Kidderminster Harriers and York City.

After time with AFC Telford United, Stourbridge and two seasons with Rushall Olympic most recently the 28-year-old has been drawing the plaudits at Redditch United.

The manager said “I’m really pleased to be able to bring David to the club as I have said since I arrived that we need some experience in this team – and with this signing we are able to do that.

“He has played professional football for three different clubs and has really impressed me since arriving this week with his calmness on the ball.”

Meanwhile leaving the club is attacking midfielder Gurjit Singh who has made the move to Redditch United.
