Hednesford Town are mourning the passing of club stalwart and long-time supporter Michael Johnson.
Mick, known to many at Keys Park simply as Big Mick, has been involved with the Pitmen for more than 30 years.
During that time, he undertook a number of different roles both at the Cross Keys and Keys Park with him serving as reserve team secretary during the 1990s and into the millennium. Most recently you will have seen him on a match day opening and closing the turnstiles as well as undertaking other duties on a match day.
Mick was also a firm supporter of the Hednesford Town FC Supporters Association (HTFCSA), serving as membership officer since the formation of the HTFCSA in November 2010.
Sadly though today came the news that Mick had passed away at the age of 69 following a short illness.
Everyone at the football club sends their deepest condolences to his wife Carol, another club and HTFCSA volunteer, and Mick’s family at this difficult time.
