Torquay United have followed up the signing of Josh Gowling with the arrival of striker Jon-Paul Pittman.
Thirty-year-old Pittman joins United after leaving National League North side Harrogate Town.
Pittman scored 11 goals in twenty-two starts for Harrogate last season, but most Torquay fans will know the speedy striker from spells with Crawley Town, Wycombe Wanderers and Grimsby Town.
Torquay player-manager, Kevin Nicholson is pleased to be adding more pace and guile to his squad: “JP is one of the fastest players I have ever played against and he will give us some real thrust going forward. I won’t be putting myself in his group for any of the sprint drills in training.
“His physical attributes are a nightmare for defenders and he has a proven goal record. I’m looking forward to trying to develop him even more and make sure that, starting from the front, we don’t allow any team in this league to feel comfortable.”
The striker has tasted promotion four times in his career which is a major plus for Nicholson.
“He’s another hardworking guy and as with Josh Gowling, he’s tasted success at this level. He knows what it takes to get back into the Football League”.
