Dover Athletic manager Andy Hessenthaler believes it would be a “phenomenal achievement” if his side could make the National League play-offs this season.
The Whites moved to within three points of the top seven with a game in hand following their 2-0 victory over Aldershot Town on Saturday.
Dover have recorded top eight finishes in four of their five previous seasons since promotion to the National League. However, they were in the relegation zone for much of last campaign before securing safety and finishing 13th.
Hessenthaler believes his side are a long way behind others in terms of club stature, but management and players have maintained throughout the season that they believe they can make the play-offs.
“I think it’d be exceptional [to make the play-offs],” the manager said.
“Considering the way this league is now, and the amount of clubs in this division that are ex-League clubs. [There are] ten ex-League clubs.”
