Poole Town boss Tom Killick revealed he missed out on securing the services of midfielder Jordan Ngalo – despite having completed paperwork for him to sign for the club.
The National League posted an article on their website confirming the youngster, who has represented England at schoolboy level, had completed a move to Black Gold Stadium. But the following day, Ngalo was confirmed as a substitute for Southern League Premier outfit Weymouth in their success against Redditch United.
The teenager came off the bench for the Terras during their 5-0 victory over the Reds at the Bob Lucas Stadium, replacing former Cherries youngster Josh Carmichael for the final 14 minutes.
Killick told the Daily Echo: “The situation with him was we were competing against Weymouth to sign him. We did sign him but so did Weymouth.
“He signed forms for us but my understanding is he will be staying with them. That was a blow for us because I went to some length in terms of effort to get him but I fully respect his wishes and reasons for going to Weymouth.
“For once it wasn’t monetary because we feel we actually offered him a better financial deal, as I understand it. Weymouth may be in the league below but they are winning games and we are not.”
