Poole Town have announced the appointment of Luke Middlewick as Head of Player Recruitment.

Middlewick will be an integral part of the player development process at Poole, assisting manager Tommy Killick in spotting players that could step into the first team.

He will also work closely with Gavin Reeves, Poole’s recently-appointed Development Manager, identifying talent for the under-18s and the Development Squad (Wyvern League).

In addition to studying for his coaching qualifications, Middlewick has completed the FA’s Talent Identification Course and previously worked as a scout at an under-18 and under-21 professional level.

Middlewick is confident in a coaching environment, with lots of previous experience in both grassroots and professional football. He has coached pre-academy/academy players and has an extensive network of contacts locally, having worked at AFC Bournemouth and Southampton, and was until recently Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) outfit Hamworthy United.

The appointments of both Reeves and Middlewick shows real commitment to young footballers in Poole and the surrounding area, filling the gap between true grassroots football and the professional game.
