Craig Harrison is looking to add a new striker to his Hartlepool United ranks.
Pools were largely dominant at Wrexham in midweek, but were unable to convert their best chances into goals.
Defensively, Pools have eradicated the mistakes which cost them at the start of the season, and have kept three clean sheets in four unbeaten games.
But Harrison is now turning his attentions to the other end.
“It’s clear at this moment in time we are missing something in front of goal,” he mused. “Franksy has contributed with goals, Rhys Oates is just getting fit again and then we have a 17-year-old in Connor Simpson.
“Devante Rodney is 19 and we are relying on those for goals. They have been good, but we are looking for more and trying to find the right one.”
Pools are a striker down following the departure of Padraig Amond to Newport County. He has scored two for his new club and Harrison added: “Podge left not so long ago, Jake Cassidy has been injured and will be out for another six-seven weeks which is disappointing. We need a solution and are trying to get someone in, but strikers who score 25 goals a season don’t grow on trees.”
