Preston North End are ready to make a January move for Connor Simpson, the Hartlepool United prospect. Striker Simpson has impressed at Victoria Park and attracted plenty of attention from above.
Boss Craig Harrison has been keeping the striker back in the youth team to allow him to develop, but he scored on his first-team debut for Pools back in September. He’s made only one more start and four substitute appearances.
He impressed last week for the youth team in their FA Youth Cup defeat to Liverpool. Preston have been monitoring the teenage striker, who turns 18 next month, and are ready to make a £65,000 offer. He has yet to sign a professional contract at Victoria Park.
