Hartlepool boss Dave Challinor is crossing his fingers that the injury picked up by Luke James on Tuesday night is not too serious, with the front man set to undergo a scan this week.
James was forced off just before the hour mark with a groin injury during the FA Cup replay win over Exeter City at The Vic and the Pools boss admitted there are concerns it could be serious.
“Luke has been carrying a little bit of a groin problem but been managing it,” Challinor told Pools TV.
“We’ve got a concern over how he might be and it would be a big blow if we lost him for a significant period but if that’s the case other players will need to step up.”
