Kettering Town have unveiled the draft plans for their vision of Latimer Park and plan to provide the football club with a match day facility to hold 6,500 spectators a community sports venue with integrated sports and leisure centre with a full size 3G pitch and 220 car parking spaces will be created within the site.
These draft plans will be the basis of the local residence consultation phase and planning application advice from Kettering Borough Council.
Ritchie Jeune said “we are excited by the prospect of developing Latimer Park into a complete sporting facility supporting local clubs not just football. We believe that there is a genuine need for facilities this side of Kettering and we are hopeful that the local residents will provide us with valuable feedback on the design and usage of the site.
Working with the Burton Town Council we will present the draft plans to residents during the consultation phase prior to applying for any full planning application. KTFC still have a desire to return to Kettering with some kind of match day facility. Plans to develop Latimer Park do not change that desire.
We will not be building a white elephant under the Kettering Town FC banner. For the development of Latimer Park to be successful it needs to cater for the needs of the Burton community and be accessible to the whole Burton community of which KTFC are a part.”
The plan will be to develop the site in structured phases.
The first phase would be to build a new Gym to house the Burton Boxing club and the Youth academy players.
Part of the funding for the new gym will come from the donation made by the Richard Butcher Memorial Trust.
