Southport manager Andy Preece spoke to the Visiter has rallied his players and the club’s supporters before Saturday’s massive match versus Torquay United at the Merseyrail Community Stadium

He said “We’ve got 11 matches and 33 points to compete and fight for. As a squad everyone is giving their all and have a desire to succeed. We need that vital win to boost everyone’s confidence on and off the pitch. I ask all our supporters to stick with us and get behind each player on Saturday as they need that support, they really do.”

“We need a break, a touch of luck , good fortune and the aim is to get on a winning, decisive run starting on Saturday against Torquay. We can and must all believe we can get the points to get out of the bottom four.”

“I’ve been mightily impressed with Southport Football Club in my short time here with the incredible support home and away, the volunteers on match days and non-match days and the desire around the place. I’ve already seen so much commercial and community activity. It’s on the pitch we’ve got to get it right and Saturday is an ideal time to get back on a winning streak.”
