Southport manager Andy Bishop have completed the signing of former Northern Ireland Under 21 striker James Gray
Gray, who has been capped from Under 16 level to Under 21 level, is seen by Port Manager Andy Bishop as a key component to spearhead the Sandgrounders forward line next season.
Bishop said “I am very excited in signing James Gray. He is a goal scorer with a potentially big future ahead of him. He is a major signing for us and I believe we can develop him.
I’ve known James for sometime and together we can really progress. My squad building will continue boosted by getting James onboard here at Southport.”
The former Middlesbrough youth player has wide ranging experience for a 23 year old having played for Darlington, Accrington Stanley, Kettering, Northampton and last season Wrexham.
In an intermittent season hindered by injury and a severe false widow spider bite, Gray netted 7 National League goals in 27 appearances.
