Torquay United goalkeeper Lucas Covolan has signed for Port Vale.
The Brazilian announced earlier today that he was leaving Torquay after two years at Plainmoor.
He now steps up to League Two, joining Vale on a two-year deal.
Covolan grabbed the attention last Sunday when he headed home a stoppage-time equaliser for Torquay in the National League play-off final with Hartlepool United.
The day looked like it may have been destined to go his and Torquay’s way when he saved the first two penalties from Pools in the shootout, but the North East side ultimately won through.
After securing the 30-year-old, Vale manager Darrell Clarke told the club’s website:
“Lucas had a very good season with Torquay and has earned his right to move up the ladder. He is hungry to prove he’s a League-level player and we feel he has all the attributes to succeed at this level.”
