Slough Town have confirmed that John Porter has stepped down as chairman.

The National League South club say Porter will remain as a director and be around on match days to offer his help, but he has relinquished the chairmanship due to work commitments.

The club say: “His fellow directors and members of the steering committee would like to thank John for his valuable work as chairman of the club over the past season.”

Mike Lightfoot has stepped up to fill the role, with Craig Edwards as vice-chairman.
