Nuneaton Town’s French full-back, Joel Dielna, played his part in a solid defensive display in last weekend’s victory over Darlington.

The 27 year-old has been a welcome addition to the playing staff following his arrival last month with his positive and determined attitude serving The Boro well.

“We have worked hard on our defensive shape recently,” said the former Caen man. “It worked well in our last game as we looked solid and restricted our opponents to very few chances.

“We also communicated well as a unit and we need to keep doing this in order to give us a platform on which to build.

“As an attacking force we caused Darlington all sorts of problems; we created a lot of good chances and could have easily won the game by a bigger margin.

“The main thing was to get back into winning ways, though, and we did that. Now the challenge is to follow it up with another winning performance on Saturday against Stockport County.

“We’ll go into the game with plenty of confidence and determined to add to our points tally.”
