Midfielder Ed Dryden, who created quite an impression when moving from the Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) to the Barclays Premier League in March 2015, has returned south to join Whitehawk on a month`s loan.

Youngster Dryden was an instant success with Petersfield Town after bursting into the Whitehawk F.C. logofirst-team during the 2014/15 season, and was signed by Stoke after impressing during a week’s trial.

Stoke’s scouts had been watching the now 19-year-old for two months.

Championship outfit Reading and two other un-named clubs had also been keeping tabs on the midfielder, who started the season in defence for the Rams who won promotion to the Evo-Stik League Southern Division One Central at the end of last season.

Dryden has already been out on loan, spending time with Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North side Droylsden in late September to October.
