Carlton Town’s Martin Ball is hopeful of playing on for further seasons yet following knee surgery.

The club legend has had an operation after a consultation revealed ligament damage that would end his playing days without surgery.

Joint-manager Tommy Brookbanks told the club’s website:

“Bally can play for another two or three years and help develop the bright, young players we have now at the club.”
