Goalkeeper Scott Davies says he is delighted to remain a Tranmere Rovers player after putting pen to paper on a new two-year contract.

The 29-year-old says he shares the ambitions of the Club and wants to help get Rovers back into League football.

Speaking exclusively to www.tranmererovers.co.uk, Davies said: “I’m delighted. To get things tied up is a good thing.

“I really enjoyed my time here last season and next season hopefully we can go one better and be back in the Football League.

“I’m pleased with what the Club want to do next year. It’s all about promotion so we have to make sure that is the case.”

Davies picked up a trophy at the Club’s Official End of Season Awards and added that the support of the fans and goalkeeping coach Iain Turner were key factors in his decision to extend his stay with the Club.

He said: “I won the Players’ Player of the Season off the lads which was a big thing, I got on well with the fans and had a good reception from them all season so it went well for me in my first year.

“I thoroughly enjoyed working with Turns (Iain Turner) and working with him again this season will be a good thing. Hopefully he can help kick me on to the next level.”
