Buxton have sold striker Liam Hardy to Darlington 1883 for an undisclosed fee.

A statement on the Bucks website read “An offer from Darlington had been received and the player, whose current contract was to expire at the end of the season, expressed a wish to first talk to and then sign for Darlington.

If that had not been the case, club officials were hoping Liam would sign a new contract for the 2016/17 season.

In 85 (2) appearances since first joining the club on loan from Harrogate Town in February 2014 he had scored 57 goals. We wish to thank Liam for his considerable service to the club and wish him every success in the future”
