Ramsbottom United have completed the signing of striker Jason Hart from Colne.
Hart, the North West Counties Football League Premier Division top scorer becomes the fourth summer signing for the Rams following the additions of Gareth Seddon, Sam Freakes and Chris Cheetham.
The 25 year old, Accrington based front man hit an astonishing 34 goals last season for Colne following a move from Clitheroe in the summer of 2015 and was heralded as a key figure in the East Lancashire club’s promotion.
Such a goal-scoring record made Hart one of the hottest properties in North West non-league football and Paul Fildes and Mark Fell were clearly overjoyed to get another top class striker to join Gareth Seddon.
“We are made up to have Jay at Ramsbottom,” said Fildes,
“He is a proven goalscorer who wants to continue his rich goal-scoring form at Evo-Stik level, but more importantly he’s a great character to have in the dressing room and will complement our team dynamic.”
Fell added, “it’s no secret that I tried to sign Jay on more than one occasion for previous clubs, but for one reason or another the timing wasn’t right for either party, I feel now we are getting a striker who is in great condition, looking to get to the next level by working hard and learning to improve his game further, I’m excited to be working with him.”
Hart spoke passionately about meeting up with his new team mates for pre-season this week, ‘I’m excited to begin this new footballing challenge, working with new players, some highly qualified and experienced staff, a great team behind the scenes and an excellent fan base. I can’t wait to pull on a Ramsbottom shirt and contributing to a successful season.”
