Ramsbottom United manager Garry Vaughan has added three new experienced faces to his squad as he continues to guide the club away from the bottom rungs of Evo-Stik Premier Division table.
Kevin McGrath is a 30 year old centre half who joins the Rams from Mossley. The experienced defender includes Radcliffe Borough amongst his former clubs.
Andy Smart, 29, comes to the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium from the successful Glossop North End side, and plays in the left-back position.
Sean Williams is a 25 year old central midfield player who has signed from Congleton Town.
Meanwhile, the latest two postponements (Grantham Town on Saturday and Nantwich Town on Tuesday) bring the number of games called off so far this season to FOURTEEN, which is two more than the whole of last season.
A club spokesman said “We thought last year was bad for games being called off, but incredibly this year is even worse, and we’re not out of winter yet!
Most games have fallen victim of the ridiculously wet weather since November, although cup ties have also played their part. We just hope that after all the problems the club has had this season, we can resume playing without further interruption until the end of the season.”
The club’s next scheduled games are against top of the table Blyth Spartans (away) on Saturday, and a home game for the first time in over two months, the following Saturday (20th) against promotion-chasing Ashton United
