Coalville Town have announced that Under-18s goalkeeper Luke Samples has passed away after being involved in a road accident.
The Ravens paid tribute to Samples and expressed with “deepest sympathies” towards Luke’s friends, family and team mates.
The club also confirmed that they will hold a minute’s silence in their game against Mickleover Sports on Tuesday night.
The news was released in a statement on their website on Monday.
It read “It is with deep regret and sadness that Coalville Town announce that their talented goalkeeper from the Under 18’s side Luke Samples lost his life in a road accident on Saturday 1st October.
As well as turning out for The Ravens Luke also played for and captained the Leicestershire Under 18’s County Representative side.
Everyone at the club sends their deepest sympathies to his family, friends and teammates at this very sad time. There will be a minutes silence ahead of tomorrow night’s First Team game against Mickleover Sports at Owen Street”
