Midfielder Scott Brown, who most recently featured on loan for Warrington Town, has announced his retirement from playing.

The former Accrington Stanley man was on loan with the Yellows from Harrogate Town when he suffered a leg break last October.

He said as part of a post on Twitter today:

“The last nine months since I broke my leg have been mentally and physically the hardest I’ve had in the 19 years of playing professionally.

“Sadly, my time is up, but I’ve had the best time. I’ve fulfilled all of my dreams from when I was a child and I’m now looking forward to the next part of my life and the journey that comes with it.”
