Redditch United is the higher-ranked club interested in Worcester City’s Tyler Weir and manager John Snape will allow talks to begin immediately.
Snape waived the standard seven-day notice period on the basis Weir could not feature in Saturday’s trip to Loughborough University (3pm) due to suspension. The decision is now Weir’s with Snape still hoping to persuade the popular full-back to stay when City gather for training tomorrow.
“We have had the approach now,” said Snape. “Tim Harris (Redditch boss) spoke to me in the week and said he would be interested in taking Tyler.
“He is suspended at the moment and we waived the seven-day notice period because we knew Tyler would not be able to play at the weekend anyway. The decision is up to him now.
“I don’t know what he wants to do but I would like to keep him, he has been an integral part of our set up from the day I came in.”
