Redditch United are mourning the loss of vice-chairman Sallie Swan, after she lost a brave fight with cancer.
The club released a heartfelt statement on their website and paid tribute to Sallie.
“Sallie Swan passed peacefully in the presence of friends and family on the 15th April following a long battle with cancer. Throughout it all she retained her wicked sense of humour and love of everything dear to her including Redditch United for which she cared for deeply.
Chris, Craig, Tom, Lara & Dan would like to thank the heartfelt warmth from the Redditch United community and also deeply thank Macmillan, Marie Curie and the Stratford Hospice for their deep care. There is a deep hole in our lives as we remember a special lady “
Southern Football League chairman Ken Turner also paid his respects saying “I am sure that everyone connected with the Southern League and the wider football community will wish to join me in expressing heartfelt sadness on hearing the news that Sallie Swan, Vice Chairman of Redditch United and wife of Chairman Chris, passed away on 15 April after a long illness.
