Woking say they have received a message from midfielder Damon Lathrope, which he wants to be shared with everyone.
The 28-year-old suffered a career-ending broken leg in the team’s recent match with Boreham Wood and the following message was shared on Woking’s website:
“I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone for the amazing support and reaction to my statement. There are so many good people out there: fans, players, managers, and directors.
The support I’ve had has been overwhelming.
I’ve been so humbled with the responses and I’ve been reading every single message. It was always far more important to me that I was respected as a person first, and player second.
I’m doing great, 7 operations in, with a fair few to go, and i’ll hopefully be out and back home with my family in the next 2 to 3 weeks, all being well.
With everyone’s show of love and support at the forefront, I’m feeling very positive and ready to attack the rest of my journey.
Be happy and thanks again,
