Ben Tollitt admits it was a no-brainer to sign for Wrexham after being told he was allowed to leave Blackpool – and the winger is open to extending his stay at The Racecourse.

The 24-year-old winger enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Reds last season whilst with Tranmere Rovers, and made the move to Blackpool in the summer following his release by the Wirral outfit.

But since making the switch to Bloomfield Road, Tollitt has not appeared for the League One club this term and has joined Wrexham on an initial short term loan deal, something the fans’ favourite welcomed.

“To be fair to Wrexham, Blackpool seen me play here and liked what I did here so they signed me off the back off that,” said Tollitt.

“I got given the chance to go to a League One team and I couldn’t turn it down.

“But the new manager at Blackpool wanted to play a different formation to the one that signed me so when I found out I could go out on loan, because of what happened at Wrexham last year I wanted to come here.

“I loved it here and really enjoyed my football.”
