FC United manager Neil Reynolds says he will be making immediate changes to the first-team squad for next Saturday’s away trip to Darlington.
It comes after Saturday’s performance and 4-0 defeat at home to Nuneaton Borough,
In his post-match interview with Ben Hughes and Roy Soule on Saturday, Reno made it clear that the performance and attitude shown from some of the players was clearly unacceptable, and would be taking immediate action.
FC United had the opportunity to close the gap on Guiseley with a home win against bottom-placed Nuneaton. The 4-0 home defeat was arguably the worst performance in the club’s 14-year history and has almost certainly relegated the club to the Northern Premier League.
Should Guiseley win their game in hand away at Spennymoor on Tuesday, they would move nine points ahead of FC, with only five games remaining.
Since Saturday, ‘Reno’ has spoken to a number of players about their future at the club and he will continue to speak to others prior to first-team training on Tuesday. He has already committed to accelerating the introduction of at least four of FC United’s table-topping Under-21s players for Saturday’s game at Darlington.
