Richard Money has now officially left Hartlepool United.

The 63-year-old was appointed manager on 11th December but just last week it was announced that director of football Craig Hignett would be replacing him, with Money effectively taking over Hignett’s role. However, reports emerged in recent days that Money, who left his role as Solihull Moors boss last season after less than a month in charge, had left Pools entirely.

In a statement from the club, chairman Raj Singh said: “Whilst we are disappointed, I would like to thank Richard for his honesty.  I respect Richard’s integrity and the fact that he didn’t wish to further financially burden the club and wish him all the very best for the future.”
