Hereford head coach Marc Richards has given an update on the close season preparations.
Talking to the official Hereford FC website, Richards said: “I think the recruitment has been solid this close-season.
“We have done some good business early on in terms of getting four players in within the first couple of weeks, which was really pleasing.
“We’ve continued to look hard for more players that fit in with our ambitions. We’ve been working on certain targets, making sure that we get the right players, with the right ability and the right character to play here.
“It’s all starting to fall into place nicely, and I’m really excited about the squad that we’re putting together, I’m really looking forward to seeing the lads in training over the next few weeks.”
A number of players who have joined the club during the close season have the ability to play in more than one role, and that’s something that Richards thinks will really benefit The Bulls. “I think flexibility in terms of playing in a number of positions is important. We know many of the lads can play and are willing to play different roles.
“We need to be able to set up a solid way of playing, be comfortable with our style of play and also be ready to adapt,” added Richards.
As well as ability, Richards is also focused on making sure the right characters come into the club.
“I think the character of the lads as well as the ability of them from a footballing perspective is huge in terms of what we want to attract to the club.
“There are quite a few lads that we’ve brought in that are of a similar kind of mindset to ours and each other. They want to achieve more from the game, many of them still have time and the opportunity to really push on with their football careers, and hopefully they can do that with us.”
