Hereford Head Coach Marc Richards denied that the pitch made Saturday’s 1-0 win over Guiseley difficult and instead said there was a lot of “sloppiness” amongst his players.

Richards said that the game would’ve been a poor game to watch for a neutral with very limited action in front of either goal.

He said: “It was an awful game. I’ve just said to the lads that’s probably one of our worst performances of the season, yet we’ve come away with a 1-0 win.

“We’ve probably had games where we’ve been on the wrong end of the result but had a really good performance, so I suppose it’s evened itself out.

“It was an awful game of football! At this stage of the season, glad we got the result, but the performance levels were nowhere near where we have been.

“If you look in the last ten, our performance levels have been pretty good, but that today was nowhere near where we need to be.”
