Sam Ricketts was delighted to see new signing Mike Fondop on the scoresheet as Wrexham claimed a second successive win of pre-season .
And the manager believes the striker will only get better for the Dragons.
Wrexham ran out 2-0 winners at the Airfield over Huws Gray Alliance outfit Airbus UK Broughton thanks to an 11th minute effort from Fondop, hammering home a stunning pass from Nicky Deverdics, before Shaun Pearson added a second on 20 minutes from a corner.
Fondop was only given half an hour on his Dragons debut, Ricketts looking to bed the striker in slowly.
“Mike is a week behind everyone else,” said the Dragons chief.
“Last week the lads all played half an hour against Lex, this week it is no different, Mike has come in a week later which is why he got half an hour today.
“That is why Luke Summerfield didn’t play today, he has not been with us. I am not going to chuck them straight into a game, I want to build their fitness up first rather than just expose them straight into a game scenario.”
